Their homes and build ings have been destroyed and you find the railway stations crowded with people, trying to go places. Sometimes they wait a week before they .an get a place on the train,' said Cpl. Hugh Shelton, who has arrived home for a 30 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Shelton. Cpl. Shelton, who is attached to the Ninth Air Force, has served 18 and one half months overseas of the 29 months he has been in the service.
