jjgDAY, AUGUST II, 18S TUB WAYNESVILLt MOUNTAINEER PAGj TTYE (Tfrft StcttoiJ ) ,
Peace has come. We must not ac
cept it lightly. Just as we took War
in our stride, so must we walk hand
in hand with Peace and its far-flung
ideals. With humility and thank
fulness to God, with ever-mindful
respect to the living and dead who
have wrought this wonder of Peace
... we must step forward . . . together
. . . into a new way of hope, a new
way of universal Christian love,
courage and opportunities to the
individual casualties of war. Bombs
and bullets must be converted into
the tools of Peace.
All of these democratic ideals must
become universal realities. The
principles of the San Francisco
Conference shall be fulfilled by
our pulling together, working to
gether, praying together for the
dawn of a brave New World.
