SEPTEMBER 3rd A REAL celebration . . and deserved! War work has kept us so busy we hardly had time to think, but now ... we can relish a day of rest secure in the knowledge that our great country is safe, that our democracy will be lasting. Labor Day is doubly fitting to be our first vacation, for the people of America won the wars. Their sons, husbands and brothers went off to strange places to meet the enemy; we buckled down to hard work, rationing, strain, and fear for their safety. Skies have cleared and we emerge the greatest nation on this earth. Let us attempt to carry our responsibiliies with a sense of justice and compassion. Enjoy the Victories! Enjoy Labor Day!
