The Waynesville Mountaineers
are hard at worl preparing for the
first grid game it the season with
Bryson City only two' weeks off.
Sept. 14. at 8:00 p. m.
The loeal gridinen are being put
through rough training by Coach
Carle-ton Weatherby. although the
weatherman has placed a hot sun
as part of the opposition. The
boys are working hard to try to
; get on the starting eleven against
Bryson City. So fur there has been
very little distinction between the
players and anyone may get his
chance on the starting team.
! According to Coach Weatherby,
modern bleachers of the remova
ble type have been secured for
ibe visitor's side of the field that
will seat 450 patrons. The sum..
bleachers can be torn down and
moved very easily and will be used
in all the various sports of the
high school.
Coach Weatherby also stated
that he had purchased a modern
public adress system which was
expected any day from the factory.
He also is planning a beaut if icalion
program at the athletic field, put
ting up new fences around the Held
and doing some painting.
