Methodist Women To Hold Annual Harvest Day Dinner The vConuui's Society of Chris tian Service of the First Met ho dist church will hold their annual Harvest Day dinner in the form of a covered dish affair on Tuesday evening. Meets Tonight The Waynesville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star Number 165 will have their regular stated meet ing tonight at 7:30 o'clock in their assembly rooms in the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Noble Garrett, worthy matron will preside. Former Bethel Pastor Enters Drew University The Rev. J. W. Blitch, former pastor of the Bethel Methodist church, who served as chaplain during the war, left during the week for Drew University, where he will study during the coming year. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Blitch and two children who will reside on the campus. Cpl Oliver Shelton, Jr, Discharged From Air Corps At Golds bo ro Corporal Oliver Hugh Shelton, Jr.. was discharged from the army air forces at Sevmour Johnson Held, on November 21. Corporal Slu '.ton has recently retunti-d from 211 months overseas service in the European t neater. He entered the service in Novembir. HM:i. and was sent overseas tour weeks alter induction. Cpl. Shelton was redeployed when the war w.th Japan ended and has recently been stationed at Hill Field. Ogden. Utah, having been 111 the service for two venrs, one month and seven days. He served in England, Northern France. Ardennes. Hhineland and Central Europe. At the time he volunteered into the service he was employed as Instrument technician in the l'an American World Airways in Miami, Fla. He is entitled to wear the Euro pean theater ribbon with four bat tle stars, Good Conduct medal. Victory ribbon World War II, with one broiue star.
