The make-up of rubber from trees is fixed by nature, conse quently improvements in com pounds of natural rubber have come slowly and with great diffi culty. Through the wonders of the chemical laboratory, however, man can control the resiliency, weara bility, and everv other character istic of synthetic rubber. This scientific development is swift and continuous, hence the present day synthetic tire is subject to almost constant improvement. Tires look much alike, the mo torist cannot see the differences in compound and construction. Since a few short months can Make so much difference in im proved quality, Dayton engineers have decided to indicate the month and year it was manufactured, thereby assuring the latest tech nical excellence in passenger tires.
