DAR Meeting Date Has Been Changed to 15th The regular March meeting of the Dorcas Bell Love Chapter which was scheduled to be held on Friday March 8lh has been post poned until Friday, March 15th, ac cording to announcement made by the regent, Mrs, W. F. Swift. The change in the date was made on account of the Annual World Day of Prayer to be held tomorrow afternoon at the First Methodist Church, which will be attended by Eastern Star Chapter To Hold Meet Tonight The Waynesville Chapter O.F.S. Number 165, will hold their regular stated meeting tonight in the Masonic rooms over the First Na tional Bank, at 7:30. The Worthy Matron, Mrs. Noble Garrett will preside and she is urging all mem bers to attend. all the members. Announcement will be made later of the hostess and place of meeting. Miss McCrary Given Shower By Aunts Tuesday Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Callie Katherine McCrary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McCrary, of Crabtree, to Raymond Hubert Jackson, son of F. 11. Jackson and the late Mrs. Jackson, of Ruther fordton. The marriage was solem nized in a quiet ceremony on Jan uary 20, at Long's Chapel Metho dist church. Lake Junaluska. The Rev. W. M. Robbins officiat ed using the ring ceremony. The couple were unattended. Only members of the immediate fami lies were present. The bride wore a two-piece wool suit of powder blue with brown and white accessories, her corsage was of talisman roses and forget-me-nots Mrs. Jackson was graduated from the Crabtree high school and Blanton's Business College. Mr. Jackson was graduated from the Rutherfordton-Spindale high school. He was recently discharged from the army air forces, after serving for 26 months in England. Following a wedding trip to Mo bile, Ala., the couple returned to Ashcville, where they will reside. Household Hints Robt. E. Gibson, MoMM Discharged From Service Robert Kugcne Gibson, MoMM, 3c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gibson, has received his discharge from the service, lie entered the navy in May, 1943, and took his boot training at Bainbridge, Md., and from there was sent to a Diesel school at Richmond, Va. Following completion of this course he was assigned to sea duty and was sent to the European the ater, where he took part in the invasion of Normandy, serving with a landing craft. Later he was returned to the States and sent to the Pacific where he was given shore duty, serving in this theater fur one year. At the time he entered the navy he had just graduated from the local high school. He has one brother in the service, Charles E. Gibson, seaman second class who is in a hospital in Bremerton, Washington. Marriage Licenses Eldon Burnett to Blanche Cody, both of Haywood county.
