Tsi voglou, director of the club re ceiving. The rooms were decorated in quantities of spring flowers. During the hours the following presented a program of music: J. D. Hyatt, two solos: J. D. Hyatt and Aaron Hyatt, a duet; Ida Lou Gib son sang a group of three songs. Cecil Wiggins, a solo, accompany ing himself on guitar; duet by Bill Carver and Cecil Wiggins; Bette Hannah and Theresa Alley, both gave several piano selections. Group singing was led by J. D. Hyatt, Ida Lou Gibson, Betty Tut tle, Jeanc Anne Bradley and Jackie Sue Messer. The program opened with "God Bless America," and closed with "God be with you 'Til we meet again." Home Clubs To Study The Saving Of Foods In May The Haywood County Home Demonstration clubs will have as their subject under discussion for the May meetings "Let's Save Food We Grow," it was learned from the county farm and home agents this week. Allen's Creek club on Wednes day, May 1, at 2:00 o'clock with Mrs. L. L Allen; Dellwood club with Mrs. Hugh Allison at 2:00 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, May 1st. The district council meeting will be held at Bryson City on Thurs day, May 2nd, to plan the 1947 program, which members of the County Council will be expected to attend. Jonathan Creek club will meet with Miss Belle McCracken on Fri day afternoon, May 3rd, at 2:00 o'clock; Iron Duff club with Mrs. .1. R. Caldwell at 2:00 o'clock on Friday, May 3rd; Bcaverdam club with Mrs. George Worlcy on Tues day afternoon, May 7th, at 2:00 o'clock. Francis Cove club with Mrs. Will Boone on Wednesday afternoon, May 8th at 2:00 o'clock; Fines Creek club will meet at the Fines Creek school at 2:30 on Thursday afternoon, May 9th. The County Spring Federation meeting which will celebrate Na tional Home Demonstration club week will be held in the court house here on Friday, May 10th. The Morning Star club will meet on Monady, May 13th with Mrs. W. J. Muse at 2:00 o'clock; Maple Grove club with Mrs. Lou Palmer at 2:00 o'clock on Tuesday after noon, May 14th. The members of the county clubs are invited to attend the demonstrations which will be given by the Farmers Federation on Wednesday, May 15, in the prep aration of food for freezing. There will be one demonstration held in Waynesville at 10:30 and another held at the Canton Y.M.C.A. at 2:30 o'clock on the afternoon of the same day. Attended Asheville Presbytery in Highlands Rev. M. R. Williamson, pastor of the Waynesville Presbyterian church and Rev. S. R. Crockett, pastor of the Hazelwood Presbyte rian church, and R. L. Prevost spent Tuesday in Highlands. They attended a meeting of the Asheville Presbytery. Morgan Addresses Woman's Club J. R. Morgan' local attorney, ed dressed the members of the Wom an's club at their April meeting held on Thursday afternoon at Oak Park, with Mrs. James W. Killian, president, presiding. Mr. Morgan spoke on the laws of North Carolina pertaining to women. He started with some of the earliest laws enacted in the state and fold of the many new ones added and of changes that had been enacted, giving women more rights. The president appointed the fol lowing nominating committee to bring in a report at the next meet ing on the officers for the coming year; Mrs. Jimmy Boyd. Mrs. John M. Queen, Mrs. Troy Wyehe. The following delegates and al ternates wree elected to attend the annual meeting of the North Carolina Federation of Women's clubs which will be held in Greens boro the last of May: Mrs. Jimmy Boyd and Mrs. John M. Queen, delegates; and Mrs. R. N. Barber and Mrs. Noble Garrett, alternates. Mrs. J. W. Killian is a delegate by virtue of her office. An article was read regarding the General Federation convent ion which will be held in Chicago in June. All members were urged to at tend the annual reading contest which will be held at the high school for girls on Thursday morn ing, the 25th. The contest is spon sored by the club. Hostesses of the afternoon were: Mrs. R. N. Barber, Mrs. True, and Mrs. Noble Garrett. Mrs. Homer Henry, of Clyde, a former member, was a guest of the meeting. Miss Lucy Head Becomes Bride Of Davis C. Gillett Mr. and Mrs. John Head of Waynesville, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Lucy Head, to David Clark Gillett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gillett, of Lake Junaluska. The vows were solemnized on Saturday, April 20th, in Clayton, Ga. For her marriage the bride wore a chartreuse ensemble with black accessories and her corsage was of gardenias. The bridegroom is a veteran of World War II and was recently discharged from the armed forces. He was attached to the medical corps of the U. S. Infantry and served for 15 months in the Kuro pean theater. He was in the army for over two years. He is entitled to wear the Purple Heart, the European theater ribbon, with sev eral battle stars, Good Conduct and Victory medals. The Bardens Arrive From Fla. For Summer Mr. and Mrs. William C.
