Stute College The new "0 per cent extract ion Hour should oiler no problem in homo liakin '. I he food specialists tell us. The cook who has been making good biscuits with the flour which has been on the mar ket can continue lo use the same recipes ami methods with the new Hour. To the liomemaker starting out with her lirsl batch of the new Hour, the specialists suggest: ill Follow your own recipe as usual, unless I he manufacturer gives spe cific directions on the package for his particular Hour; i2l If the dough or batter seems a lillle soft with the familiar recipe, try using a little less liquid and a bit more flour in t in- mixture. These are minor adjust meiit s that some of the new Hour may need, if the products do not quite come up lo your family's standards. One good way to space and share wheat is lo use more potatoes and less bread for the energy food in family meals. Potatoes are now plentiful and at present prices are an inexpensive energy food. Penny for penny, potaloes oiler more fuel value than any other vegetable. Potatoes are no more "fattening" than bread. One medium-sized potato and one thick slice of bread or two thin slices) both have about 100 calories. It is the gravy, but ter or other fat used on potatoes that pile up calories and put on pounds. Potatoes fit into any meal breakfast, dinner, or supper. For breakfast, a favorite potato dish is potato pancakes. To make enough pancakes for a family of 5 or 6. grate 2 cups of raw potaloes and put immediately into 1 -i cup of milk. Add 1 egg. beaten slightly, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and if desired. 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion. Drop from a tablespoon onto a greased pan. Cook until well browned and crisp on both sides. Serve hot. EXF.CUTttlX NOTICE Having qualified as F.xecutrix of the estate of Mrs. Jennie K.
