OLIVER HUGH SHEETON, JR., who before her marriage at Coral Gables, Fla., on Friday, May 17, was Miss Roberta Jose, of Brook lyn, N .Y., and Niles, Ohio, and is the daughter of Mrs. Louis Rosenberg, of Brooklyn. The couple will make their home in Miami Beach, Fla., for the present. Mr. Shelton who was educated at Western Carolina Teachers College, and served with the 9th Air Force in the European theater for more than twenty months, holds a position as instrument mechanic of the Pan-Anorican World Airways. Mrs. Shelton is an honor graduate of the Girls Commercial high school of Brooklyn, N. Y. Vivian B. Clark To Wed Charles Leatherwood Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Clark of Ilazelwood, have announced the en gagement of their daughter, Miss Vivian Barbara Clerk to Charles Lea'.herwood. son of Rev. and Mrs. Frank Leatherwuod of Waynes ville. The marriage is scheduled to lake place on Saturday, June 22 at the First Baptist church at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The bride attended the local Wayncsville district schools and the St. Joh.".'f 'I'lslnes.s School. The bridegroom was recently discharged from the Navy after two and one-half years in the ser vice. 14 of which were spent on sea duty. Mr. Leatherwood at tended the Wayncsville Township high school and Wake Forest col lege, and at the time he entered the service was a student at Fur man University. Miss Alma Jackson left Friday for Pensacola, where she will visit her brother, Chief Petty Officer Rufus Jackson and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jackson. Mrs. W. F. Swift, regent, presided. Being the last meeting of the year, the officers and chairmen of the various departments gave their annual reports. Mrs. R. N. Barber, delegate to the Continential Congress, which was held in Atlantic City, gave a report oi mo meeting Mrs. Harry Marshall read the message of the President General from the June issue of the Nat ional Society magazine, in which the president urged that the mem bers work toward peace.
