THE WAYNESVILLE MOUNTAINEER PAGE FOUR (First Section? f Home Clubs for First two weeks July announced The subject of study for the July meeting of the Haywood county home demonstration clubs will be on "Shoes and Feet", according to an announcement by Miss Mary Margaret Smith and Miss Helen Smith, home and assistant home agents. The schedule of meeting? for the first two weeks in the month will be as follows; pe.iverdam club will meet with Mrs. Frank Cabe on Tuesday, July, 2nd at 2:00 o'clock; Allen's Creek club with Mrs. Hiram McCracken on Wednesday, the 3rd. at 2:00 Leo Hill, Mrs. Jack Snyder, Mrs. o'clock; Dellwood club with Mrs Frank Henry on Thursday, 4th at 2:00 o'clock. The Jonathan Creek club will meet with Mrs. V. H. Nelson on Friday afternoon at 2:00 on the fith; Morning Star club at 10:30 Monday morning, the 8th, with Mrs. Malcolm Cris-p; Maple Grove Club with Mrs. Edward Glavich on Tuesday, the 9th at 2:00 o'clock. Francis Cove club at 2:30 Wed nesday afternoon the 10th with Miss Marion Boggs; Fines Creek club at the Fines Creek school on Thursday the 11th, at 12:00 o'clock: Iron DufT cluh with Mrs. K. W. White on Friday, the 12th at 2:00 o'clock; Ratcliff Cove club with Mrs. Mark Galloway on Monday afternoon, the 15th at 2:00 o'clock. Mrs. Louie Clark Honors Niece With Miscellaneous Shower Mrs. Louie Clark was hostess on I.iursday evening of a miscellane ous shower in compliment to her niece, Mrs. Charles Leatherwood. the former Miss Vivian Clark, whose marriage took place last Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. The residence was arranged in summer flowers in mixed shades. June 19. Mrs. Crown was the former Miss Sara Glee Queen, anil is a graduate of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina. Mr. Brown is a veteran of World War II and Is now in business in Clyde, where the couple will make their home. James L. Cobb Is Named To State Art Committee A new drive has begun this month to expand the membership of the North Carolina State Art Society, with James I. Cobb, local society member and druggist, nam ed a member of the statewide com mittee to assM in this work. At least 1.000 new members en rolled in the Society is its present goal, witli the ultimate objective being the erection of a state museum to hold Carolina art treas ures The group has been active in highway beaut if nation encour agement of school children in the study and appreciation of art, and the creation of well-planned build ings and monuments throughout the state. Membership fees range from $1 00 for a year, $1000 for patron membership, to $100 00 for life membership. Any person desiring membership applications is invited by Mr. Cobb to see him. The State art exhibition, which will be held in December, oilers to Tar Heel artists prizes totalling $1,000. Paintings in any medium, sculpture, prints and drawings may be entered, and will be judged by three nationally known persons in the art world This exhibition is organized by the state society, and is expected to attract considerable interest.
