However, here's the dope as things stand now: There will be two tournaments, the first one for club: members and persons residing at J the club, and a second one about two weeks later open to alt who wield a club. In both meets there will be an 1!i hole qualifying round, j the Mi low scores entering the first flight, the next lti in the second, and so on. Then will come the matc h play for flight champion- j ship, the winner of the first flight , being crowned club champion and i gelling his name engraved on a trophy. George Kimball, the club t vice president, will -decide the ; opening dates of the tourney, but' il seems pretty definite that it j will not be until Monday, Aug. S.I I'ries go to the winner of the ; qualifying round as well as to the low scorer in each flight. The open tournament will be operated ' on I he same1 order, and the prizes and compel it ion are to be good j enough to bring a large field in : to each event. KOOTHALL practice at the High School will start about August 20th, Coach C. K. Weatherby anounces. It's a lit tle early to tell much about the prospects for this year's Mountaineer eleven, but with the usual hot schedule to play there's no doubt that they won't be ready, willing and able to give a good account of themselves in the autumn gridiron affairs. Canton High probably will start a week ear lier getting ready for the sea son. Their first game is a week before Waynesville's first one, explains C. C. Poindexter, the Black Bear mentor. SAYLES will come here Satur day as one of the third place teams in the league, having won half of their ten games. Yount and Lane took care of most of the flies to the outfield, and the infield turned in some fancy defensive play as well. Dud ley ran into the stands to snag one foul fly, and Shook and the two Wyalts at second and first pulled the only double play of the game.
