It. of course, is too early to judge how good a team the High School will turn out. for the coaches aren't sure who will be present to don uniforms The team last year, with Bob Milner at left 1 halfback and Leonard Mosscr I be left end selected as their outstand- ; ing players, did quite well for it self starting the season with most of the fellows playing football for the first time. There are several veterans who will enter the High School this year which should pro- ; duee some talent; Krvvin Shook ol i the Hazel wood baseball team for 1 one. Canton had a stronger team 1 than the Mountaineers last year! and is pointing towards a better one this fall. The Black Bears lost two, tied one out of eleven played. At any rate, there's always i something about football that j makes everyone get perked up when the autumn breezes start blowing. HAYWOOD county should make it a point to "go to the dogs" next Saturday night, when the Fox Hunters associa tion presents the first bench show for hounds ever to be held here. Many of the best hunting dogs of the county will be entered in the event. Their first show is sure of a certain amount of success, and we hope there is enough interest from the general public throughout the county as well as those who have dogs of their own to support and attend the event, which can add much to the summer program of events in Haywood as well as give the county considerable publicity in other nearby areas.
