Jimmy Elwood Discharged From Navy Jimmy Ellwood, Sk 3e, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ellwood, of Wqynesvillo and Canton, Ohio, has received his discharge from the Navy. He entered the servic.o in rebruary, 1945, as a volunteer while he was a student at Kenyon College, Cambier, Ohio. lie took his boot training at Great Lakes Naval Training eentc and from there was assigned to sea duty. He served aboard the USS Hesperia, AKD-13, and the USS Salyra, ARL-23, and was stationed at Okinawa and other points in the Pacific theater. He is entitled to wear the Amer ican Defense ribbon. Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon. Victory medal. Japanese cccupation, China-Ilurma-India ribbon. He plans to re-enter college in the fall.
