HAZARD. Ky. (AP) There'll
nothing that boats a blow torch if
you're trying to get out a news
paper, say the mechanical crew of
the Hazard Herald.
A shortage of natural cas dur
ing a cold snap stymied the com
posing room crew. They couldn't
gel enough heat to melt metal at
the proper temperature for casting
mats. The workers scurried around
town and came up with three bor
rowed blow torches. Pretty soon
they had the mats cast and the
presses rolling.
