E. Rush of Clyde, is being plan ned as an event of Sundav. Novem ber 7 Last fcionth announcement was made of the engagement of Miss Elaine Rush to Richard Ensley, son of Mr and Mrs. T. S. Ensley of Clyde, and Miss Elnora Rush to James Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Peterson of Norfolk Va as best man. Best man 0 Mr. Peterson will be his brother-in-law, William Miller of Norfolk. Matrons of honor will be Mrs. John Marr of Mars Hill and Mrs. John Evans of Burnsville, bo.h sis ters of the brides-to-be. Parent-Teacher Group Meets I At Hazelwood I he October meeting of the Haz elwood Parent-Teacher Association was held Monday night at the school with Mrs. Whitener Prevost presiding. Rev. Paul Thrower, pastor of the Hazelwood Presbyterian Church, conducted the devotional and M. H. Howies, superintendent of schools, was the main speaker. Mr. Bowles spoke on the Transportation Sys tem of the Schools. He also suggest ed that a grievance committee be appointed to take care of any com plaints concerning Hie school. Plans were discussed for the an nual Hallowe'en Carnival to be Itt ld on Friday evening, October 29, at the school. A committee ap pointed to make arrangements for the event is composed of Mrs. Jon- MB. HARROD AT MOORE GENERAL J. P. Harrod left last week for Moore General Hospital where he is receiving treatment. at har Woody, chairman. Mrs Grady Farmer. Mrs. Paul Davis, Dr. R. Stuart Roberson, and Mrs Aaron Prevost. Mrs. A. P. Ledbetter and Mrs. Jack Snyder were appointed to serve on a membership subscrip tion committee and the members 'voted to give a picture to the room , which secures the greatest per centage of members in the organiz ation. Mrs. Prevost gave a report of the district P.T.A. meeting held re cently in Asheville. Miss Eula Patterson's grade won the prize for the largest percentage of members present for the meeting.
