The bride was attended by Mrs.
Messer as matron of honor and

Mr. and Mrs George Craig and
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Russell will hold
open house at the Craig residence
on Thanksgiving afternoon follow
ing the football game in Canlon.
Decorations will be in the
Thanksgiving motif and a buffet
supper will be served. The dining
table will be covered with a lace
clolh and will be centered with a
silver bowl of fruit and lighted
yellow candles in silver holders.

Plans are complete for the an
nual drive for renewal of member
ships in the North Carolina Svm-
phony Society, according to an an
nouncement by James L. Kilpat
rick, chairman of the symphony
committee. The drive will start
next Monday, November 29 and will
continue through the week.

The Little Symphony, which is a
group of 23 musicians selected from
the full N. C. Symphony Orchestra
and directed by Dr. Benjamin
Swalin. will give two concerts here
next spring. A free concert for
children will be given in the after
noon and a concert for members
of the Society will he given in the
evening.
Membership in the Society can
be secured for $2 00, but active,
donor, and patron memberships al
$5 00, $25.00, and $100 00, icspect
ively, are also needed.
In view of the highly successful
appearance of the orchestra ht
season, the committee hopes that it
will have the enthusiastic support
of business, industry, civic organiz
ations, and other groups.

wood county women are expected
to turn out for the Handicraft Fair
which will be held in the county
courtroom Friday morning at 10.30
o'clock. The Fair is an added fea
ture of the second annual Tobacco
Harvest Festival. j
