A brief busines ssession. with Miss Edith Summerrow presiding, was held before the party. The rooms were decorated for the occasion with Christmas preens and lighted red candles. A Christ mas tree and snow scenes with Santa Claus and his reindeer were a lad used. The program included the read ing of a Christmas story by Miss Richeson and the exchange of Christmas gifts by the members of the sorority. Miss Grace Furtado. who is a student at Meredith College, ar rived Tuesday to spend the holi days with her parents. Mr. and Mrs Charles Furtado. She spent the past week-end vrrth a class mate in Durham. Christmas Party Is Given By Guard Unit One hundred and fifty people at tended the Christinas party given by the Heavy Tank Company, 120th Infantry, of the North Carolina Na tional Guard, at the Waynesville Armory on Wednesday night for families of the guardsmen. The armory was decorated for j the occasion w ith a Christmas tree and other greenery. Capt James M Davis welcomed j the guests and Ll. Robert H. W'in- Chester served a master of cere ' monies The program included a ! Christmas message delivered by J Hev Malcolm R. Williamson. Following the program Santa Claus was contacted by short wave radio and arrived al the armory with a pack loaded with toys for the children Gifts were also dis tributed to the aclultv Lt.
