Louis Rogers, student al State
College. Raleigh, is visiting his par
ents. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rogers
in Clyde.
Donald Rhea, son of Mr. and
Mrs V M. Rhea of Hazelwood. who
is a student at Georgia Military
College, has been chosen as a
member of a choir made up of
students from Georgia State Col
lege for Women and Georgia Mili
tary College.
Tlie choir is now on a concert
lour of several states, including
Virginia and New York and will
appear in Washington. D C. Young
Rhea will sing the leading parts
in two numbers on the concert pro
gram. On Wednesday. March T.
the choir will broadcast over NBC
network from Radio City, at 1 p.m.

Mrs Shoolbred. Mrs. William I.
Long, granddaughter of Mrs. Shool
bred. and Mr. Long of Raleigh:
Mrs. Frank Siler, niece of the host

The residence was decorated i
throughout with vases of spring

were gifts of friends. I
The dining table was covered
with an antique linen cloth and
centered with a large birthday
eake decorated in yellow and green
and flanked by yellow candles in
silver holders. Arrangements of
ioniiiils and iris were also used
in the dining room.
Around thirty friends called dur
ing the afternoon and Mrs. Shool
bred and Mrs. FroM received many
messages of congratulation.
Mrs. Shoolbred is the former
Miss Molly Toneray and Mrs. Frost
is the former Miss Rachel Toneray,
twin daughters of Col. and Mrs.
Charles Toneray. of Elizabetblon.
Tennessee. Mrs, Shoolbred has re
sided in Waynesville for the past
lorly years, having come here with
her husband, the late Mr. Shool
bred She is a charter member of
the Waynesville Woman's Club, a
member of the Dorcas Hell Love
Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution, and an active
member of Grace Episcopal church.
She has also been active in I he

Mrs. Frost, who made her home
in Fliabethton following her mar
riage, has been residing here with
her sister since the death of her
husband a few years ago. She
was also active in social and re
ligious affairs in her home town.

Match Slated At Clyde
Clyde School Parent-Teachers
Association will not hold its meet
ing this Thursday as scheduled,
but will observe Father's Night on
March 24 at 7:30 p.m.
The main attraction of the event
in the school auditorium will be an
old fashioned spelling bee with the
Mas and Grandmas spelling against
the Pas and Grandpas from the
Blue Back Speller.
