Frazier Miss Betty Anne Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gurley Glenn Robinson of Canton, was married to Charles Oldrldge Fra zier, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Krazier of Canton, RFD 3. Satur day evening at the home of the bride on Oakland Circle. The double ring ceremony was per formed by the Rev. C. W. Kirby, pastor of Central Methodist VhuiTh in Canton. Only relatives suul a few close friends were pres :enl. A program of wedding music was presented by Miss Caroline Gates, pianist, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter t'nwart who sang "The Sweetest Story Ever Told" and "I Love You Truly." The traditional wedding marches were used, and "To A Wild Rose" was played softly dur ing the ceremony. The vows were spoken before an j improvised altar of greenery flanked by white cathedral tapers in tiered candelabra and baskets of white snapdragons and gladiolus. The bride, given in marriage by !her father wore a dress of mauve pink and a mauve pink straw hat with shoulder-length veil. She car ried a cascade bouquet of white flowers centered with a white or chid. Miss Margaret Kobinsor. sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore an emerald green frock of faille with natural straw hat with green veiling. Her bouquet was of bronze snapdragons. John Nesbitt of Waynesville was besi man. Mrs. Robinson, mother of the bride, wore a dress of rose crepe with a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Krazier was dressed in navy blue and wore a corsage of white roses. Following the ceremony an in ! formal reception was held. Mrs. Carlton Peyton, sister of the bride, was in charge of the bride's regis ! ter. i The bridal table was laid with a j lace cloth centered with an ar i rangement of crystal candelabra holding lighted tapers. A three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom was placed on a mirror reflector encircled with white blossoms. Mrs. Wade C. Hill and Mrs. W. M. Bryson presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. W. G. Cole. Mrs. P. V. Hamerick and Mrs. Claude B. Witt assisted in serving. After the reception the couple left for a wedding trip. For travel ing the bride wore a navy blue gabardine suit with pink and navy accessories. She wore a white or chid detached from her bridal bou quet. The brioe was graauated from Canton High School and attended Western Carolina Teachers College. The bridegroom received a B. S. degree from Western Carolina Teachers College, and is working on a M. A. degree at George Pea- I body College. At present he is a j member of the Waynesville High j School faculty. He served in the ! U. S. Air Force during World War ! II for three and a half years. ! j Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Tate and daughter, Teresa, are leaving to i day for Pasadena, Tex., where they 1 will make their home in the fu I ture. Mr. Tate, who is employed by the Champion Paper and Fibre Company, has been transferred from the Canton plant to the Pasa dena plant. Holds March Meeting At Windover The Joseph Howell Society of the Children of the American Rev: olution met at Windover, the home of Mrs. J. Creed was led by Miss Harriet Gibson. Miss Betsy Siler, registrar, report ed the addition of three new mem bers in the society. Miss Linda Sloan, secretary, read letters from the state C.A.R. music chairman, the Crossnore chairman. and the American Indian chairman. The program for the afternoon included the following numbers: Piano solo, "The Old Witch." play ed by Patience Ray. The Story of the Cherokee Indi ans, told by Lane Prgvost. Piano solo, "Arogonaise." played by Allen Hart. Sketch of the Life of Tsali Char lie). Indian Hero, told by Linda Sloan. Miss Way and Miss Siler re ported on the state CA R. confer ence held recently in Greensboro A shower of books for Cherokee In dian Children was persented by the members and the meeting clos ed with the singing of the C.A.R. song. Refreshments were served by the hostess assisted by Miss Allen Hart and Miss Harriet Gibson. A spe cial welcome was expressed to Miss Way and Miss Siler, students at Woman's College, who are spend ing the spring vacation at home. Sorority Meets With Mrs. Liner The regular meeting of the Alpha Theta chapter of B -ta Sic ma Phi was held Thursday even ing at the home of Mrs. Harry Lee Liner, Jr. Spring flowers were used in dec oration of the residence and a cov ered dish supper was served be fore the meeting. Miss Dorothy Richeson was in charge of the program and gave a talk on "The Good of Thought". Original short stories were read as follows: "The Peg and I," by Ila Campbell; "Happiness Comes to Everyone," by Bernice Harrell; "Uncle Cupid," by Edna Summer row; and "Just Ordinary," by Knox Cobb. Miss Edith Summerrow presided during the business session. Clyde Home Club Holds Meeting The Clyde Home Demonstration Club met Last Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Ed Sanford with Mrs. Bill Hannah, Mrs. T. E. Reed. Mrs. Louis Sanford and Mrs. Louis Smith as associate hostesses. Luncheon was served by the hostesses after which a demonstra tion on Better Breakfasts was giv en by Mrs. Stanley Livingstone and Mrs. R. L. Henessee. The program included the show ing of a film on Nutrition. Mrs. C. E. Brown, Jr., president, presided and Mrs. Louis Sanford was welcomed as a new, member. The wedding will take place Fri day. April 15, at four o'clock in the ifternoon at Long's Chapel Methc dist Church, Lake Junaluska. The bride-elect is a graduate of he Fines Creek High School. Mr. Hyatt is a graduate of the Waynec ville Township High School and King's Point Merchant Academy. Long Island, N. Y. He served for three years with the Maritime Commission during World War H, ind was discharged in 1946. He is currently employed as manager of he Wood Canning Company of Crocket. Va., where the couple 'ill reside following their marriage. The ceremony took place at the home of Mr. Wilburn's niece, Mrs. R. W. Taylor, near Enka, Sunday March 27, at three thirty in the afternoon. The Rev. Thad Dietz of Sylva pronounced the vows.
