B. Hipps of Canton, in a ceremony at the Baptist parsonage in Spindale last Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The Rev. A. M. Martin, pastor, pronounced the vows in the pres ence of members of the 'wo families. The bride was attired in a navy dress with white accessories and a white orchid corsage. Following a reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Lancaster, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, the couple left for a wedding trip in the Smoky Mountains Park. Upon their re turn they will reside at the home of the bridegroom's parents in the Rockwood community. The bride is a graduate of the Ellenboro high school and of the Rutherford Hospital Training School. She has been employed at the Haywood County Hospital for some time. Mr. Hipps is a graduate of the Canton high school and served three years with the Paratroops during World War II.. He is now employed at the Dayton Rubber Company at Hazelwood. Mrs. Robinson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Berry of Waynesville. She is a graduate of the Waynesville High School. Mr. Robinson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Robinson of Canton. He is a veteran of World War II. having served two years in the Navy. The couple is now residing in Canton. Peggy Noland Is High School May Queen Mr. and Mrs. D. Reeves Noland has been chosen May Queen of the Waynesville High School to reign at the second annual May Day Dance to be held at the Waynes ville Armory on Friday, May 13. Miss Noland is a member of the senior class. Miss Aileen Fulbright of the Junior class will be maid of honor and other attendants selected by the students are Miss Betty Poe of the senior class. Miss Betty Farmer and Miss Betty Noland of the soph omore class, and Miss Mary Sue sparks and Miss Bennie Lou Med ford of the freshman class. Allen at their home on Aliens Creek. Mrs. Dameron Is Honored At Bridge Luncheon Mrs. Charles Ketner was hostess of a bridge luncheon at her home on Walnut Street yesterday as a courtesy to Mrs. W. II. Dameron of I Warrenton, who is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. David Hyatt. j Vases of yellow gladioli were used in decoration of the rooms and the tables, at which the guests were seated for luncheon, were centered with pansies. The place of the honor guest was marked with a corsage. Bridge was played at two tables following luncheon and prizes were presented to the holders of high and low scores. The play, presented under the direction of Miss Hatsie Freeman, was entitled, "Choosing the May Queen." Characters included: Steve Ril ey, spring elf; Geraldine Farley, grass; Sandra Sheffield, rain; Mary' Elizabeth Devlin, blue bird; Oveida Banks, sun; and soldiers, Carl Mc Clure, Jimmie McCracken, Jerry Henderson and Kenneth Rector.
