Assisting in receiving and serv ing were Mrs. Uolian Harris of Durham, Miss Eleanor V. Clardy of Durham, Mrs. Kenneth Lowe, Mrs. Kenneth Turner, Miss Mar garet Palmer Miss Pat Dixon of Cleveland, Mrs. Laurence Clark, and Mrs. Floyd Rippetoe. Mrs. Wallace Ward assisted with the decorations. Following the reception the cou ple left for a wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore an orchid pink gabardine suit, a pink and grey Lilly Dache hat, and grey cobra shoes and bag. Her flowers were baby orchids detached from her wedding bouquet. The bride, formerly of Durham, Is a graduate of Duke University. In Durham she was a member of the high school English Depart ment. Following a year of profes sional training in the New York School of Social Work, she took her present position as child wel fare case worker with the liny wood County Department of Pub lic Welfare. She has spent most of her summers here since early childhood. Mr. Klopp, a veteran of World War II, is an alumnus of Clemson College and a uradualc of the Uni versity of Illinois with a degree in engineering. He is now a mechani cal engineer with the Champion Paper and Fibre Company at Can ton. He moved with his family from Canton lo Lake Junaluska about five years ago. Guy was honored on Mother's Day when her children entertained with a dinner at the home ol a son, Vess Guy. Mrs. Guy, who is 83 years old, has three sons and five daughters. Glee Club Concert Slated For Sunday The Glee Club of the Allen Negro High School of Asheville will give a concert at Long's Chap el Methodist church Sunday even ing, May IS, at eight o'clock. The (ilee Club, which won two "A" ratings at the recent glee club conlcsl in Asheville, makes regu lar appearances at. Oleen and has given numerous programs through out this section. The concert Sunday night is be ing sponsored by the Woman's Society of Long's Chapel and a special invitation is extended to other societies in the-community to atlend. Colorful Program Mrs. Hill Gives Is Planned For !v,v May Day Dance Vanity Show Set For Saunook 12th By JEAN HALL Mountaineer Correspondent A Vanity Show will e held at the Saunook School House Thurs day night under the sponsorship of the Saunook Parent-Teachers Association. The program, scheduled to open al 7:30 p.m., also will feature a movie, music, Cake Walk, and a Gay Ninety Review given by the Girls' Club. A colorful program will be pre sented at the second annual May Dance of the Waynesville High School, Friday night, at the Arm ory. Highlighting the program will be the coronation of Miss Peggy Nol and as May Queen and the pre sentation of members of the Queen's Court. Miss Noland will j be escorted by Bill Henry. Other! members of the court with their I escorts are Miss Aileen Fulbright, maid of honor, with Jimmy Swang er; Miss Betty Poe with Joe Wor ley, Miss Kathryn Hyatt with Don Leatherwood, Miss Betty Noland with AJlen Boone, Miss Betty Far mer with.
