CREAMY FRENCH DRESSING Ingredients: 2 tups salad oil, Vi eup unsulphured molasses. l2 cup cider vineRat. 3 tablespoons catchup, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon paprika, 'k teaspoon dry mustard, 2 teaspoons finely grated onion or onion juice, N egg white tunbeateni, 1 peeled clove garlic. Method: Put the salad oil. molasses, vinegar, catchup, salt, paprika, mustard, onion, and egg white, in a mixing bowl and beat vigorously with rotary beater until thoroughly blended. Cut garlic clove in two, add to dressing and allow to stand in it; impale garlic on toothpick for easy removal before serving. For sophisticated dessert choose the Mock Baba Strawberry Ring pictured here You can serve it without the strawberries if you like as 1 li.iv e done -and it will be delicious, too In the latter case, how ever I).- sure to accompany it with sweetened whipped cream. MOCK BABA STRAWBERRY RING Ingredients: 2 egjs 'separated', 13 cup sugar. 13 cup sifted cake flour, few grains salt. h teaspoon cream of tartar, 2 teaspoon van illa, rum syrup, strawberries, whipped cream. Method: Beat egg whites stiff; add sugar gradually, beating constant ly. Beat yolks until extremely thick; fold Into egg whites. Mix and sift flour, salt, and cream of tartar; fold in gradually. Add vanilla. Bake in greased ring mold '9 inches in diameter) or a small size coffee cake pan, in a moderate i350s F.i oven for 25 to 35 minutes. Pour the following rum syrup over the cake; Mix l:t cup sugar and 13 cup water together in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves; simmer about 3 to 5 minutes. Cool slightly. McCracken was presented the Joseph Montford Medal of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina by Grand Master Maxwell E. Hoff man of Asheville. Mr. McCracken is past grand high priest of the North Carolina Grand Royal Arch chapter and past Grand Master of the Grand Coun cil. The meeting operled last Sunday and continued through Wednes day.
