Club Holds Annual Meeting The Annual Meeting of the Waynrsville Business and Profes sional Women's Club was held Tuesday evening. May 31. at Waynevilla with Mrs. M. G. Stanley, president, presiding. The following officers for the coming year were installed by Mrs. Kthel Kieheson in an impressive ceremony: President, Mrs. M. G. Stanley; Vice President, Mrs. J. K. Mc Cracken; Recording Secretary. Mrs. Kenneth Stall; Corresponding Sec retary, Miss Mary Medford; Treas urer, Mrs. Bill Dover. Mrs. Aithur Paul Evans, a new member of the club, was introduc ed and all new members present were presented Year Books by Mrs. Stanley who discussed the Club Emblem and its meaning. The Slate Convention of Busi ness and Professional Women's Clubs to be held in Moorehcad City in June was discussed and delegates to the convention elect ed. Mrs. Elaine Hudson, a member of the Club in St. Petersburg, Fla., was a guest at the meeting. The Club voted to continue the Baby Silting project during the month of June and all proceeds from this project will go to pro mole worthy civic activities. Annual reports were given by the President and Committee Chairmen. Reading Clubs Are Noted In Library Bulletin Special recognition has been given Miss Margaret Johnston, Hay wood County Librarian, for the Vacation Reading Clubs, sponsored hy the library for young readers' in the community. The Wilson Library Bulletin, national library publication, carries in its "vacation reading" number for May an account of the Travel Reading Club, conducted by the library last summer, with a half page illustration. This is a distinct honor since the Bulletin publishes only accounts of vacation plans of unusual interest. Adding to the honor is the fact that this is the third consecutive year the Bulletin has carried stories of the reading clubs. As a result of this publicity Miss Johnston has received inquiries from many libraries in North Caro lina and other states. Lois H. Mooney Is Wed To Davis T. Rog ers Mrs. Lois Haynes Mooney, daugh ter of Mrs. Hascue Haynes and the late Mr. Haynes of Clyde, was wed to Davis T. Rogers of Detroit, Mich igan in a ceremony Sunday after noon at Clayton, Georgia. The bride was attired in a gab ardine suit of pastel blue and her accessories were black. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory colored lace and tulle with a fitted bodice of lace and a bouffant skirl of lulle. A reception was field immediate ly following I he ceremony at the Anson Country Club. Miss Jean Hyatt Receives Diploma At Peace College Miss Jean Hyatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hairy J. Hyatt of the Eagles Nest Road, was awarded a diploma at graduation exercises at Peace Junior College in Raleigh Monday night Miss Hvatt and her mother, who attended ' the exercises, returned home on Tuesday. After spending a month with her parents, Miss Hyatt will return to Peace to begin work as secretary to Dr. William C. Pressley, presi dent of the college. During her student days. Mr,s Hyatt served as vice president of Sigma Phi Kappa, campus, honor society, and was active- in the Col lege Glee Club. Mrs. L. H.' Bramlett, Mrs. Roy C.
