Reading Clubs
Are Noted In
Library Bulletin
Special recognition has been
given Miss Margaret Johnston, Hay
wood County Librarian, for the
Vacation Reading Clubs, sponsored
hy the library for young readers' in
the community.
The Wilson Library Bulletin,
national library publication, carries
in its "vacation reading" number
for May an account of the Travel
Reading Club, conducted by the
library last summer, with a half
page illustration.
This is a distinct honor since the
Bulletin publishes only accounts of
vacation plans of unusual interest.
Adding to the honor is the fact that
this is the third consecutive year
the Bulletin has carried stories of
the reading clubs.
As a result of this publicity Miss
Johnston has received inquiries
from many libraries in North Caro
lina and other states.
