He served three years in the Navy during World War II. more than two of which were spent in the Kuropean and Pacific theatres as lieutenant in command of an L.C.T. Presbyterian Pastor And Wife Honored At Party Tin' Key and Mrv Paul Thrower and I heir son. Bobby Thrower, were honored Saturday evening al a reception given by the Women of lhe Hazelwood Presbylerian Church in the Fellowship Hall at the church. The occasion marked the Rev. Mr. Thrower's first year as p.etor of the church. Mrs. Howard Hyatt, new presi dent of the organization, presided. Through the courtesy of the Champion Fibre Company of Can ton, Camp Hope on Pigeon will be available to the girls for a week at a minimum fost. Dr. Mary Michal, superintendent of the District Health Department will give each girl a physical examination, five of charge, before the camp opens. Troop leaders were asked lo con tact the members of their troops to determine the number of girls who would bt. able to attend the camp and Mrs. Gordon Schenck and Mrs. Rankin Ferguson were ap pointed to serve on the Camp Committee. Mrs. Bill Provost and Mrs. Wil liam Ray were appointed on the finance committee. Volunteers are needed to assist with the camp program and lo serve as counselors. Anyone who can serve is asked to contact Mrs Hyatt. Piano Students To Be Presented In Recital Miss F.vclyn C. The paslor also announced I hat all parents of the children who will be attending the school are imbed to the picnics.
