The following improvements have been made during the devel opment program: Mr. and Mrs. Jack McCraeken have painted their barn and added a new refrigerator and built-in cabinets lo their house. Little Miss Margaret Howell of Morristown, Tennessee is spendlnk (wo weeks with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. G G. Leatherwood at Lake Junaluska. Mrs. Thad Cathey of Clyde and her daughter, Miss Lucille Cathey, plan to go to Newport, Tenn., this week-end to attend the marriage of Mrs. Cathcy's niece, Miss Irene MrNabb of Newport. They will stay with relatives for a week. Mountaineer Correspondent A well-balanced program was presented for the 14 members and 1(1 visitors al the dinner meeting of the Crablree Baptist Church Women's Missionary Union last Saturday at the home of Miss Cora llipps. who served at hostess. Mrs. Hubert Wells discussed the meaning of the WMU training school and the organization's southern headquarters. Oilier features of the program, over which Mrs. Vincent Davis, WMt president, presided, included the singing of "Bringing in the Sheaves,'' Scripture reading by Mrs. Lucille Messer, and talks by Mrs Hugh Walker, Mrs. Will Brad shaw. Mrs. Mary Haney, Mrs. Yo der Davis. Mrs. Monroe Noland, and Mrs. Kurman Noland. Th" meeting closed with a prayer by Sunday School Super intendent Vincent Haney. The next meeting will be held al 1! p. m July 2 with Mrs. Way Messer. wilh a picnic supper to lollow on the lawn at 5 p. m. AMI members are urged to be present, and visitors will be wel come. Miss Mozelle Liner, 18-year-old Waynesville Township High School girl who graduated this spring, won second place in the state-wide speaking contest held at Hickory last month by the North Carolina Knights of Py thias Lodges. She represented the Canton Lodge. Miss Liner plans to enter Woman's College of the University of North Caro lina this fall.
