We mean those practical, down-to-earth dreams
that are a part of every man's hopes for the future.
Your own home ... a new car . . . special vacations.
The things that make living more comfortahle
ami happier.
They are yours if you plan NOW with a
savings account.
Open your eyes to what planned savings can
ofter you in the future.
Put part of each pay check into a savings

Gift From The Nurses Club
The Haywood County Nurses
Club has just presented to the Li
brary a copy of "Nursing for the
Future", a report prepared fur the
Nalional Nursing Council by Ksther
Lucille Brown. It is published by
the Russell Sage Foundation
The National Nursing Council
for War Service was created in
19-12 It's accomplishments have
been outstanding. II sponsors three
important studies: a history of its
own work; an economic survey of
the nursing profession; and a study
of reorientation of nursing cduca
t ion.
The Council was convinced that
inadequacies in both the comity
and quality of nursing service stem
med primarily from an outmoded
system of nursing education, which
was no longer capable of attracting
the number of students needed, or
of giving the varied preparation
requisite for nursing today. Hence
It requested a grant from the Car
negie Corporation of New York
that would permit a canlul exam
ination of Hie current situation. Dr.
Ksther Lucille Brown l Hussell
Safe Foundation was appointed di
n-dor ol the study.
! l)i Brown's Report has been pre
pared with provision for the nurs

thelii't objective Her recommend

eduialion have been formulated in

Cousin, here's a tip. This fellow
Tolar. you know, went into his
present position under a little
criticism, and thai, of course makes
him extremely eager to do a bang
up good job So be careful about
your speed ... be keer-full'.
One fellow left Raleigh around
June 1 on a trip to the mountains
and his driver's license was check
ed three times on this one tour by
groups of patrolmen here and
there. It's going on all over the
Stale. Funny how that little old
license can get down in the bottom
of vour purse or slide dow n among
the oilier cards and receipts in
jour pockethook. Have it handy
and you won't get so nervous.
Furthermore, you will save v ou a
lol of time.
