Salaries estimated- NCHSAA Rulings Do Hoi Affect Paper Bowl Game SrrUI In Til.' MiniMalm-n CANTON Contrary to Ihe im pression left by recent press re leases, Canton's annual Paper Bowl football classic will not be affected by rulings made by the Executive Board of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association at their summer meeting. Widely published news stories have stated that the board ruled that any player appearing irr a post ssasoa football game would be in eligible for further high school competition. Which Is true inso far as it goes, but the releases fail ed to say that the ruling was direct ed only at "all-star" and "wildcat" post-season games. The ruling does not apply to post-season games, between high school teams, that are sanctioned by recognized conferences or by the NCHSAA. Authority for this interpretation is C. C. Poindexter, WNC member of the NCHSAA executive board, who personally contacted L. J Perry, executive secretary of the board, before releasing this in terpretation. Upon the strength of this the Canton Y's Men' GtUb, f infttors and sponsors of the Paper Bowl, are going ahead with plans for their annual grid classic at Black Bear Memorial Statlum here on Wednesday, Nov. 30th. The cham pions of the Blue Ridge Conference will again be host team, matched against a team of comparable strength, probably from the West ern Conference.
