Many Johnston county tobacco
growers already are having trouble
with grub worms in their plant
beds, says W. II lloyle, assistant
county agent for the N. C. State
College Extension service.
The worms uproot the soil all
over the bed, causing considerable
damage to the plants. For control
of the pests, lloyle recommends
using one pound of Paris Green
to 25 pounds of wheal bran with
enough water added to moisten the
mixture and make it slick together.
The mixture should be broadcast
on the bed at the rate of six to
eight pounds per 100 square yards.
