Colorful Session At Beaverdam , RY EVA JANE WORLKY Mountaineer Correspondent 1 A large group of Beaverdam re sidents attended the Community Devclonment Program meeting held Monday night at the Reaver dam School a meeting that proved to be one of the most in teresting held since the Program was organized. Music and song took the spot light on the program, featuring James Worley's String Band. Han nah Reno with her banjo, the , Surrelt Family, and the Best Sist ersMarie, Bobbie, and Frances. Members of the band, in addition to Mr. Worle'y,- are Roy Parham. Ned Smatheis, and Fred Wright Guest speaker of the evening was Tull Jamison Beaverdam Is rich With talented young people, and if the older peo : pie encourage them and help them, this community will become one of 1 the best in the county. RnnaOin cxw I Patrol Recovered 44 Cars In June RALiEIGH The Theft Bureau of the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles assisted in the recovery of 44 stolen automobiles during June and launched investi gations into the theft of 39 more, the Department announced this week. In addition the bureau collected S5 1.635.93 in penalities and addi tional license fees for trucks caught overloaded. Of this amount SI 1.932.39 was taken in for addi tional license fees and $9,493 in penalties for privately-owned ve hicles. Additional fees on com mercial vehicles amounted to $18. 225.91 and penalties were S1L 979.63. Total penalties were $21,-477.63.
