Judge Advises
Visitors: Don't
Miss October Here
A visitor who knows Haywood
nearly as well as though he were
a permanent resident advised his
fellow summer visitors not to, go
rushing home before October.
To miss October here, Judge I.
M. Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.,
ovserves, is to miss the most beau
tiful time of the year in these
mountains.
The congregation of both hard
woods and evergreens in Haywood's
forests gives Nature the freedom
lo paint the land with the entire
range of brilliant colors, and with
a generous hand.
Judge Anderson first saw Hay
wood 20 years ago. For the last
three years, he has been a regular
summer visitor.
The judge is spending the sea
son at Furry's Lodge.
King Xerzes of Persia is said to
have insisted that all taxes be paid
in transportable meal and other
foodstu ffs.
