The long table, at which the guests were seated, was centered with an arrangement of mixed white flowers and the party ap pointments were in the bridal mo tif. Miss Richeson presented gifts to the guests. Those present were Mrs. L. M. Richeson. mother of the hostess. Miss Ethel Evans of Pittston, Pa.. Miss Betty Jean Alley. Miss Mary Lu Elwood, Miss Lois Massie. Miss Bette Hannhh. Mrs. James L. Kil patrick, and small daughter. Lynn Kilpatrick. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Walker of New York City, who are annual visitors to Waynesville, are guests at the Piedmont Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. O. V. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Blanche Par ry, pianist, and Miss Martha June ' Collins, vocalist. The bride wore a gown of white , marquisette made with a full skirt 1 ending in a long train. Her double i tiered fingertip veil was edged with I French lace and was attached to a coronet of seed pearls. She car ried a white prayer book topped with a purple orchid showered with I white streamers and white delphi.i i ium. ! Miss Patsy Sue Hemphill, maid ol' 1 honor, wore a gown of blue swiss and a matching veil attached to a ' garland of blue flowers. She carried a nosegay of blue and white del phiniums tied with pink and blue ribbon. j Miss Thelma Collins, bridesmaid, wore a dress of pink marquisette ! and a garland of pink flowers. ! P. W. Hamilton of Andrews, col lege roommate of the bridegroom, i was best man. Following the ceremony an in formal reception was held with Miss Rubye Collins. Miss Edith i Carolyn Hutchin. Mrs. Taylor I Hardin and Mrs. Walser Hawkins I assisting. After the reception the couple ! left for a short wedding trip, and on their return will reside in Hud t son, where both will teach. For traveling the bride wore a navy gabardine suit with navy and pink accessories and the purple orchid detached from her prayer book. Mrs. Everhart, a graduate of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, has been teach ing for the past three years in the Canton schools. Mr. Everhart, who served on a transport plane during the war( is a graduate of Western Carolina Teacher's' College. Miss Ethel McCoy has returned to Camp Junaluska For Girls after conducting a group of girls on a tour of Europe. Talbert Parker of Goldsboro, who will be an attendant in the String-field-Richeson wedding, arrived to day and is a guest of James King Stringfield. Mr. Parker and Mr. Stringfield are classmates at Jef ferson Medical College in Phila delphia. The Rev. and Mrs Malcolm It. Williamson have returned Iron Griffin. Georgia where the former conducted funeral services for Bol ton C. Plowden, a member of the First, Presbyterian church of Grif fin. The Rev. Cobb of Asheville, to James Worley Owen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Owen of Waynesville. The ceremony was performed in the First Presbyterian Church in Asheville on July 31 with the Rev. Asa Ferry pronouncing the vows. The altar was decorated with gladoli and floor candelabra against a background of palms. Ilobart Whitman, Jr., organist, and Julian Brookshire, soloist, pre sented a program of wedding mu sic Schubert's "Ave Maria" was played during the ceremony and the traditional wedding marches were used. The bride, given in marriage by her lather, wore a'chapel wedding gown of white marquisette with fitted bodice and yoke outlined with ruffles of alencOrT laoW Her' shoulder-length veil of French il lusion was attached to a wreath of orange blossoms and she car ried a prayer book topped with gar denias. Miss Betty Ann Cocke was maid of honor and wore a dress of yel low marquisette with lace trim. Her headdress was a wreath of mixed flowers and she carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. H o w a r d Jones of Asheville served as best man and ushers were Cecil Palmer of Asheville, Robert McChesney and Jack Mc Chcsncy of Staunton, Va uncles of the bride, and James L. Cherry of Asheville. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was given for the wed ding parly and out-of-town guests. The bride's table was centered with a Ihree-tiered wedding cake flanked by white candles and ar rangements .of white carnations. The couple left by automobile for a weo'ding trip. For traveling the bride wore a navy blue suit with while accessories and a cor sage of gardenias. Mrs. Owen is a graduate of Lee Edwards High School and Ashe ville Biltmore College, where she was a member of Sigma Mu Fi mathematics fraternity. Mr Owen is a graduate of the Va nesville High School and Bilt more College. He served for three years with the U. S. Navy and is now a member of I he rising senior class at .Eastern Carolina Teachers College, v"i Mr. and Mrs. Owen will reside in Asheville until September when both will attend Eastern Carolina Teachers College. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt plan to build A sunmicr . home at Balsam. Miss Lucille Virginia Brown, jaughter of Master Sgt. and Mrs Walter D. Brown of Ft. Bragg, and granddaughter of Mrs. I. J. Brown and the late Mr. Brown of Waynes ville became the bride of Donald Blincoe in a candlelight ceremony on Sunday afternoon, August 14, at 5:30 o'clock in the Post Chapel, Fort Bragg. Chaplain Leslie Thompson officiated, using the double ring ceremony. The chapel was decorated with palms, arrangements of white glad ioli and burning white tapers in branched candelabra. Prior to the ceremony Sgt. Stan ley Waterfield, organist, and Miss Francos Dudley, soloist, presented a program of wtdding music and the traditional wedding marches were used as processional and re cessional. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white organdy own fashioned with a full skirt and a fitted bodice of yclet em broidered organdy featuring a square neckline and short sleeves. Her fingertip veil was of imported English net and fell from a ban deau of pearlized orange blossoms. She wore white organdy mitts and carried a bouquet of white roses and tiny pompom chrysanthemums tied with tlle. Miss Keeter Barnes, maid of hon or, wore a gown of white organdy over lavender taffeta fashioned af ter that of the bride. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Bridesmaids were Miss Jean Brown, sister of the bride, Miss Dorothy Triplett and Miss Mere dith Tyson. Miss Brown wore white organdy over yellow taffeta and carried yellow roses, Miss Tyson wore white organdy over pink taf I'eta and carried white roses, and Miss Triplett wore white over aqua and carried white roses. Their gowns were designed after those of the bride and maid of honor. Joyce Elaine Joyner was flower girl. She wore a white organdy dress designed with floor length skirt and fitted bodice trimmed with eyelet embroidered ruffles and tiny blue taffeta bows.
