At H. R. Caldwell's, they saw a
modern Grade A dairy barn and a
line field of coin.
Then O. L. Yates showed them
his experimental plantings of corn.
Among the varieties he has set out
are NC 282. Dixie 17, US 13, NC
-,u, and NC 20. But for his land,
he told the guests, he is finding
Dixie 17 most suitable.
At Davis Chapel, where they saw
more improvements, they were wel
comed by Iron Duff Chairman J. K
Caldwell. Clyde Chairman William
Osborne responded for the visitors.
At Iron Duff Square. Thad Med
fold and David Hutfh Tate showed
their 4-11 baby beef cattle, and
llarley Caldwell and James Wil
liamson exhibited their 4-11 dairy
calves.
Going to Mr. and Mrs. Hay Ma
iler's, they inspected the Milncrs'
new home and the heating system.
At G. B. Hogan's. they saw an
other new Grade A dairy barn. Mr.
llogan was unable to show his vis
itors around personally, as he is
confined to bed with injuries.
The Antioch Baptist Church with
its improvements was the next ob
jective of the guests.
Proceeding to Devoe McElroy's
they saw a fine crop of tobacco
and saw his thoroughbred fox
hound, Dixie, and the ribbons and
trophies the dog has won in many
shows.
Jack Chambers showed the visit
ors the results he has accomplish
ed in improving the grounds and
lawn around his home.
At J. A. Chambers, they saw an
other fine tobacco crop.

real interest in farm projects was
instigated by the enthusiasm and
encouragement shown by his teach
er, Mr. Evans.
"When my calf was sick. I phon

to help,'' Buddy said. He considers
that genuine interest.
