Chapter Holds First Fall Meeting The initial fall meeting of the Haywood Chapter. United Daugh ters of the Confederacy was held Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Floyd Rippetoe with Mrs George Plott as -co-hostess. Mrs. Sam Queen presided and reports were heard from officers j and committee chairmen Mrs. .). H. Howell. Sr.. reported that the marker on Sulphur Springs Road had been cleaned and the j j-urrouiiding grounds beautified. i The state I D C meeting to be held in Raleigh in October was discussed and Mrs. Sam Queen and Mrs. Rippetoe were named dele gates. Mrs. Roy Martin presented a paper on Adm. Raphael Semmes and Mrs. Howell reviewed the U.D.C. magazine. Miss Doris Graham of Clyde was a special guest for the meeting. G. S. Troop To Hold Court Of Awards A Court of Awards, for Girl Scout Troop No 4 will be held at the Girl Scout Hut Thursday niuht at 8 o'clock.
