The bids will be received and opened on the church grounds at that time, with the old building to go to the highest bidder The new Spring Hill Baptist Church, being built at a cost of $40,000. is expected to be ready for service on November 1. I'll ANK I.1N Mountaineer Correspondent Mrs Delma Caldwell and Mrs. Dave Smith were elected to the Aliens Creek recreation enminittee at the regular Community Devel opment Program meeting held September 22. Plans ate now underway for a recreation program for the fall and winter seasons. Dining the meeting also, the residents of the cnininlinily voted thanks to all who helped with the 1 ii ii' 1 1 during the Held Day this summer when the Aliens Creek people entertained the residents of Francis Cove. Thanks also was extended lo all wlio donated material lo fix up the playground and picnic area. A special vole of gratitude was extended to Mr. Prrvost for the use of the grounds Dining the meeting also, plans were made to give the members of the boys' and girls' Softball teams a wiener roast and, at the same time, hold a food sale.
