Library Notes MARGARET JOHNSTON COUNTY LIBRARIAN ORES EVIL L- Tommy Ern ie was alone in his wife walked and the ban- lecture on the lie he scooped sh box. A LOT OF BOOKS The circulation of the county li brary during July was Waynesville 3986, Bookmobile 2310. Hospital 122, making a total of 6418. In August Waynesville circulated 3902, Bookmobile 19!)(i and (he Hospital 101 making a total of 5!i!l). During September Waynesville checked out 2941 books, the Hook mobile 1786 and the Hospital 119 making a total of 481fi books. For the three months period it shows a total of 17,263. It is a lot of fun to go out on the Bookmobile. Last week I found myself wanting to look at all the pretty ioliage and talking too long to the borrouers about bonks that I was late for the next slop. To nie I he greatest joy of Library Work is lo help someone lind a book they want lo read. It very gratifying lo drive up to a Rookniobile Stop and lind a group of people waiting lor you. My, but these rural people are doing some grand reading. Can you imagine 6C3 bonks being checked olf the truck on the last three trips. All kinds of books, too! October 1st marked the end of the Bookmobile's first year of serv ice. During that time 24,195 books were loaned from the truck. It trav eled i.H(9 miles and during that lime il missed only one trip. All kinds of books have been used from the collection by men, women and children. Some have been read for pleasure, others for study and many to help answer questions about their everyday problems. It might have been material for a club pro gram, a devotional, home decora tion, cralts. party ideas, poultry, parallel reading or even a horse or dog story for Hie ejiildron. It might have been a Western or a romance, travel or biography, a war experi ence or history or a suitable book for a club review. Whatever the need may he the Library is at tempting to meet that need. Just suppose thai each person who reads a book from the Library, the Bookmobile or the Hospital would mention il to someone else! You are our best advertisement for every time you mention the Library it may help introduce your neigh bors to ils many facilities. HUSBAND BEATKR GRAND RAPIDS. Mich.
