PITY THE LORDLY MINK:
COAT GETTING THINNER
CHICAGO (UP) Getting a good
mink coat is a problem sometimes
even for a mink, according to the
American Veterinary Medical As
sociation. Mink ranchers and veterinarians
have been reporting heavy losses
from a mink disease called steati
tis, the association said.
The disease causes normal tis
sues to be replaced by fat in vari
ous parts of the body. Many young
mink die from the ailment, while
survivors usually are left with in
ferior coats.
