Chapter Has Christmas Program A Christmas program arranged by Mrs. Frank Kinsey, chairman of American Music, was presented at the December meeting of the Dor cas Bell Love Chapter ol the Daughters of the American Revo lution The meeting was held Friday idternoon at the home of Miss Martha Stringfield with Mrs. Kr v nest Hyatt as co-hostes.s. The program included a group of readings by Mrs O V Barker and two solos by Mrs James Kd ward Way. Mrs Barker presented "Chiistmastide." Kihoes from Btthithen. and 'The Christmas Tree and Mrs Way sang Holy Night' and Homing Mrs. Way was accompanied bv Mr. Robert Streu her. During the business hour with Mrs J W Killian. regent, presid ing, plans were made for meeting the chapter's quota for the build ing fund for the addition to Mem orial Hall in Washington. D C Mrs. R. Barber, chairman of geneologioal records, reported ad ditional records sent to National headquarters: and Mrs H C Marshall, registrar, reported the transfer of papers of Mrs Hugh I.each from Harriman. Tennessee Mrs. James Boyd made a report on the Christmas card sale and Mrs J Harden Howell, senior president of the Children of the American Revolution, made a -report for that group During the social hour the host esses were assisted by Miss String field's mother. Re becca Smith is a new first grade teacher Mrs. Shuler is a graduate of Western Carolina Teachers Col lege, where she majored in mathe matics and business education and also studied music. She will teach mucir in the grammer grades and direct the high school glee club She will also serve as lunch room cashier and school librarian. Miss Smith, also a graduate of WC.TC. majored in primary edu cation. (International) Garden Club Will Sell Christmas Decorations A sale of Christmas decorations will be held by the Richland Gar den Club on Saturday, December 17. in the R E. A. Building on Main Street. The decorations, to be made by members of the club, will include table and mantel arrangements, miniature Christmas trees, party favors, and wreaths and swags for doors. All will be designed to add holiday touches to the home. Advance orders are being taken by Mrs. J. W. Ray, Mrs. James El- wood, and other club members and special pieces will be made upon request. The decorations will be made at an informal luncheon at the home of Mrs. Ray on Friday. Woman's Club To Hold Meeting The Waynesville Woman's Club will meet at the Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with Mrs. Frank Kin sey, president, presiding. Ten Women Are Enrolled In Handicraft Class Ten craft leaders in the Com munity Development Programs of the County attended the first class of the Handicraft Workshop in the Court House this morning. Classes will be held each morn ing from 9:30 to 11:30 o'clock and each evening from 7:30 to 9:30 o'clock, through Friday evening. The workshop will be entirely in copper and is taught by Miss Amy Woodard of Asheville. No cost is made for the course except for materials used.
