bridge party and miscellaneous
shower given Saturday evening

editing the June i-ue of "The Tar
Heel Woman.'' North Carolina pub

sional Women's Clubs. The local
club will furnish all copy, adver
tisements and pictures for this

manager for the edition.

group of musical numbers.

Plans Christmas
Party And Visit
The Auxiliary of Veterans of For
eign Wars will have a Christmas
party next Monday night at the
V.F.W. Club Room, at 7:30 o'clock,
veterans will be guests for the
party.
Serving as chairmen for the
event are Mrs Roy Campbell. Miss
Clara Dolson and Miss Frances
Hose.
On the following Wednesday i
night the Auxiliary take., gifts to
Oteen Hospital and take part in
a Christmas program to be pre
sented for the patients.

A Christ mas program will be
presented at the Lake Junaluska
Ele'iientaiy auditorium. Monday.
December I St. at 7:30 p. m.
The program, lo be given in two
pails, will include a performance
by the newly organized rythni band
and a Christmas pageant.
The band, consisting of children
from the iirst four grades will play
three numbers. "Santa Claus Is
Coining To Town.'' Jingle Bells."
and "l'i On The Housetop.'' Amelia
Nichols will direct.
The pageant, telling of the birth
of the Christ Child will have the

189-1. Mrs. Medford is the former
Miss Fannie Mull, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Mull.
Mr. Medford. who is the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Leander
Medford. is also a native of Hay
wood coun'y and is engaged in
farming.
In addition to their daughters.
Mr. and Mis. Medford will have
their three sons. Dave. William and
Clinton Medford. with them for
the anniversary observance.
