The Waynesville Mountaineers last Monday afternoon closed a disappointing baseball season op a rather sad note. They dropped a 40-5 decision to Hendersonvllle at Ilendersonvllle the same team they had licked 19 0 two weeks before. This time their ace southaw,' Jimmy Kuykendall, was out of action. The results' left the Mountaineers with a season's record of seven losses and three victories. However, it was a young squad that Launched the season last April. Only four starters will not return next year, and all are out fielders: Bob Davis, 'Charlie Wo mack, and Bob Owen, all of whom, incidentally also will be badly missed when the 1950 football wars are declared. T The Mountaineers could get on ly four hits off Blondie Whitmlre, while the Bearcats clubbed Jen kins and Swift for 13 safeties. Bill Sutton led the losers with a double and a single.
