The family par ents, daughter and three sons have enjoyed the recreational facil ities of this area, and put in a lot of time doing some "fancy sleep ing" as they explained as they re laxed at Wayne villa Motor Court. The Johnson family, consists of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Johnson, three sons, Kenneth, bet ter known as "Red", the twins, Jim and Bob, and a . married daughter, Betty, who is the wife of Cpach Redding, line coach at Davidson. For the past ten years the John son family has sung over WBT, their hometown station In Char lotte. Prior to that for eight years, they performed over various other stations. . Their rest here was for a strenuous round of programs in New York. They left here Sunday for the two-week stay in New York, where they will appear on the "We The People" program, and also Arthur Godfrey's television show. In addition to appearing on these two shows, they will make a series of recordings while in the city. Their schedule,, of appearing in "big time" hits did not seem to be of much concern to them as they discussed their plans on Saturday. On the eve of the departure for the big town, and the high spots of the entertainment world found them Just as composed, apparently unconcerned, and certainly not the least bit uppish about. the trip. They found exactly what they wanted here in Way nesvllle-rest and relaxation, and this proved to be, the ideal starting point for their ordeal In New York. While here they fished, motored back in the mountains, slept some more, attended the street dance, the dairy parade Saturday morn tng, and slept, and slept. This light air "was Just right" they said. On Saturday night they gave a concert at the high school auditorium.
