Canton Club Dinner-Dance At Piedmont Will Open Season The annual Fourth of July Din-ner-Dance( which officially opens the summer season, will be held Monday night, July 3, at the Pied mont Hotel. The dance will be sponsored by the Beta Sigma Phi sorority with music by Teddy Martin and his orchestra. Dinner, will be served in the hotel dining room from 6 to 9 o'clock and dancing will start at 9 and continue until 1 o'clock. This will be the first of three summer dances to be held by the sorority. "An Angel's Serenade" was played during the ceremony and "The Lord's Prayer." by Mal otte was sung as a benediction. The traditional marches were used as processions and recessional. The bride, who wVs given in mar riage by her father, wore a waltz length dress Of white Chantilly lace over satin. Toe fitted bodice was buttoned. In front with tiny lace covered buttons and was de signee) with v-neck, outlined with a rolled collar and long sleeves, pointed at the wrists. Her shoulder, length veil of imported Belgian lace was attached to a f ap of bridal illusion and her only ornament was a strand, of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and valley lilies centered with a white orchid. Miss Mary Hazel Phillips of Washington, D. C. and Asheville, was maid of, honor and the bride's only attendant. She yore a bouf fant dress of blue organdy fashion ed with off-the-shoulder neckline and a' headdress of matching net. She carried an arm bouquet of red roses. ' ' ; ' Fred A. Qunry of Kannapolis, brother of the bridegroom served as. hest man and ushers were Wil liani David Noland bf Waynesville, brother of the hrlde, Norval Craw ford, Jr. of Duke University and Asheville, cousin of the bride, Mrs. ' Noland, mother of the bride, wore a street-length dress of navy with white accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. Immediately after the ceremony the couple left by motor for a wed ding trip through the South. For traveling the bride wore an aqua beige summer suit with green ac cessories .and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. Upon their return they will be at home ot 705 Wil- Mar Drive, Concord, N. C. Mwi. -Qucry.was graduated .from Waynesvllle Township High School and Berea College, Berea, Ken tucky. Since graduation from the latter, she has been employed by the North Carolina Board of Cor rection and Training, Raleigh, as testing psychologist. Mr. Query is a graduate of the Harrisburg School, Harrisburg, N. C. He served four years in the 101st Airborne Medical Division of the U. S. Army in England, France, and Germany. A verysuccessful Vacation Bible School was brought to a close last Friday night at Spring Hill with a Commencement program. -A . total of 166 was enrolled with an average attendance of 155.
