Gaddy, son of Mr. and Mrs, David
S. Gaddy of Hazelwood, at the
Hazelwood Baptist Church, Friday
afternoon, at four o'clock.
The Rev. M. L. Lewis, pastor,
pronounced the vows, using the
double ring ceremony.
The altar was decorated with
white gladioli and seven-branched
candelabra against a background of
fern. ' . . .
Prior to the ceremony a program
of wedding music was presented
by Mrs. Ellen Way, organist. The
traditional wedding marches were
used as processional and recession
The bride wore a suit of white
linen with white accessories and a
corsage of pink rosebuds.
Following the ceremony a recep
tion was held at the home of the
bride. The bride's table was cover
ed with a lace cloth and was cent
ered with a bowl of mixed spring
flowers. A three-tiered wedding
cake was at one end of the table
and the punch bowl at the other.
After the reception the couple
left for a short wedding trip and
upon their return will be at home
on Main Street in Hazelwood.
Bith Mr. and Mrs. Gaddy are
graduates of the Waynesvillt Town
ship High School. Mrs. Gaddy at
tended Berea College in Berea,
Kentucky and Mr. Gaddy attended
Phillips Business College in Lynch
burg, Virginia. At present Mr.
Gaddy is employed at Dayton Rub
ber Company.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. White of
Tampa, Florida, who are here, for
the summer at their home on John
son i Hill, entertained informally
last Wednesday evening in cele
bration of their twenty-fifth wed
ding anniversary.

their daughter, Miss Barbara
White, student at the University
of Alabama.
A motif of red, white, and silver
was observed and were used In dec
orating. The dining table was cov
ered with a red lace cloth and was
centered with blue flowers, flank
ed by white candles in silver hold
ers. Individual cakes were inscrib
ed with the wedding date of the
hosts..
Mrs, Manuel Jones, presided at
the punch bowl.
Around thirty guests were invit
ed to the affair.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto W. Johnson
and granddaughters, Misses Pam
and Dale" Logan, of Tampa, Florida
spent Sunday here as guests of
their cousin, Mrs. F. G. trazier.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have a sum
mer home at Bat Cove.
Mrs. Hal P. James and two
young sons of Memphis, Tenn, are
here for a' visit to Mrs. James'
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Porter Mc
Clure of Waynesville, Route 1.

of Commerce of the University of
North Carolina, where he was a

foternity. He served two and one
half years with the army during
World War II, two years of which
were spent in the European Thea

School and is presently employed

School of Theology of Mars Hill

Club Holds .
June Meeting
The June meeting of the Rich
land Garden Club was held last
Thursday at the home of Mrs.
Rufus Slier with Mrs; W. F. Swift
and Mrs. J. P. Dicus serving as as
sociate hostesses.
A patriotic motif was used in
floral arrangements and the dining
table was centered with a flag of
the United States formed by small
red and white buds and blue rag-!

Dr. Charles Schull of Asheville,
distinguished teacher and lecturer,
was guest speaker for, the meeting
and was introduced by Mrs.' T: L.
Gwyn. program chairman. Dr.
Schull spoke on "Human Nutrition
As Related to the Life of the
Plant."
Following the "address Mrs.
Schull read a number of 'her own
poems.
Mrs. Siler presided during the
business hour and welcomed Mrs.

for that event which will take place
in August.
