Kathleen Calhoun Will Present Pupils In Recital Pupils of the Kathleen Calhoun School of the Dance will be pre sented in a recital at the East Way ncsville School auditorium Friday r.ight, at 8 o'clock. The program will include toe and tap dances as well as ballet and acrobatic numbers. No admis sion will be charged and the pub lic is invited to attend. Cannon, food and nu trition leader, spoke on the value of serving potatoes freshly cooked in order to retain the Vitamin C content. Mrs. W. J. Muse, gardens leader, exhibited new varieties of vege tables which were grown in h.r garden, and Mrs. H. L Mm pan food preservation leader, suggested methods of preventing the loss of liquids from canned fruits and vegetables. Mrs. W. L. Amnions, home man agement leader discussed the value of paints for beauty and preservation of wood; Mrs, Paul Hyatt, clothing leader, demonstrat ed the best method of hemmins a skirt; and Miss Willie Smathers, arts and crafts leader, distributed pieces of aluminum lor making trays, Mrs. M. B. Hyatt, health leader recommended that the members take advantage of the cancer detec tion clinic. Book reports were given by Mrs. Ammons, Mrs. Cannon, Mrs. Paul Hyatt, Mrs. B. M. Stamey and Mrs. L. M. White. Dance Is Given At Youth Club Miss Kathleen Calhoun. Miss Ann Rector and Miss Margaret Keece were joint hostesses of a dance given at the Youth Club Monday evening. Mrs, James McClure, president, was in charge and a devdtional program on "Faith," was presented by Miss Phyllis Hartman. Plans were made for a family picnic to be held at time of the regular meeting in August and the following committees were named: food, Mrs. Iulia McClure, chair man, Mrs. Guy Quuen and Mrs. James Garrett; recreation. Mrs. Roy Pettigrew, chairman, Mrs.1 Steve Plummons and Mrs, Carl McCracken, Jr. The members also voted to pur chase a textile paint set for use in the club. Miss Mary Cornwell, home agent, gave a demonstration on "Home Storage," and projects reported were foods and nutrition by Mrs. Guy Queen, home management by Mrs. Bill Stevens, and gardens by Mrs. Julia McClure.
