Ainsworth, Iowa Ronald .vas one of the 4-H Club members from Washington County. Iowa, who visited Haywood County last week. During his stay here, he was a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy B. Medford of Iron Duff. Below, he tells of his im presslons of his visit here.) I would like to thank the Exten sion leaders of my county and of this county who have made it pos sible for. Uie exchange of the 4- H'ers which was inaugurated last year. . I feel lucky to be one of the number to be selected to coine litre. It certainly has proven its pur pose, both educational and recrea tional. ' I have enjoyed all the entertain ment provided for us. I had never been through a paper plant as The Champion Paper and Fibre Com pany in Canton, nor an estate like the Biltmore; and the fine Hereford cattle were a sight to see. There couldn't be anything bet ter than the Cherokee Drama, "Un to These Hills", And all the barbecues were grand and enjoyable. I found the people here to be most friendly and courteous to us. I have been told of the Com munity Development Program and have spent my time in one of the winning communities with Thad Medford as my host (Thad is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Medford. Iron Duff placed second in the 1949 Community Development Program county-wide competition'. I don't wonder that these pecple here in Iron Duff are one of the winners, for they are wide awake uiid full of ideas for entertainment. The first night, I was taken to a ball game. On Tuesday, I went on a field day trip, and that night to Mississippi Pastor At Junaluska The Rev. Dr. Henry M. Bullock.! minister of Capital Street Method ist Church, Jackson. Mississippi, is ! attracting large audiences daily at : 11 a. in. to the Auditorium of the Lake Junaluska Assembly, where1 he is conducting a Bible Hour seJ ries under the ausplcies of a south-; wide Conference on Christian F.du-i cation in session here, August 13- ::i in his talks Dr. Bullock will un- fold the Bible story from Genesis to Revelation, showing how the prophetic books and other writings, came into being to meet the needs i of the changing times, and trace ' the historical happenings and more important developments in relig ion from the creation up to the time of Jesus Christ. In his first address. Dr. Bullock i outlined seven principles of Bible study, as follows: Obtain a large print Bible, easy to read and in modern language if preferred. Re member the Bmie is a library of many kinds of literature, not a single book. It contains biography, history, poetry, letters, fiction, drama. On Wednesday and Thursday, there was more entertainment, by the county agents and civic clubs. On Friday afternoon, there was a Coca-Cola party, a dinner party, and then another party that night in Iron Duff. Saturday was spent seeing Lake. Junaluska. the Fish Halchery, and several other scenic spots. There was another good barbe cue that evening and a farewell party at the Haywood County 4-H Camp, which is a wonderful place for a good lime. 1 have enjoyed every day of my stay here and I hope to be able to visit Haywood County again. 1 must not forget to mint ion the square dances. I learned to dance by having a good partner to the ex tent of maneuvering, my way around the ring at the big square dance at the Armory. 1 want to thank everybody who certainly went all out to give the Iowans a good lime. So this is goodbye -for a while to all the friends i made here. 1 hope to come back again some time.
