Dorsett of Salisbury, Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in Hayes Barton Methodist Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Howard P. Powell, pas tor of Edenton Street Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by the llev. Charles Lynn Brown, pastor lit White Memorial Presbyterian Church. , A program of wedding music war I presented by Mrs. William D. Mil-! ler of aleigh. organist. The altar ,was decorated with palms, wood wardia fern, and floor vases of white chrysanthemums. White tap ers were used in cathedral candel abra. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore "her moth er's wedding dress of antique ivory 'sal in and net, trimmed in rosepoint (lace and pearls and designed with 'ivory satin court train. Her illusion voil was attached to an ivory lace , cap and she carried a cascade bou ' quel of ivory colored hybrid or i cliids, valley lilies, Fleur D' Amour, and bride's roses, tied with ivory sat in ribbon. . Mrs. Willis Smith, Jr., of Ra ' leitjh, was matron of honor and ( bridesmaids were Miss Heilig Har i ney of Edenton, cousin of the bride. Miss Mary Joanne Bradley of St. ! Louis, Mo., Miss Roland Collins of Kinston, and Mrs. James H. Truitt of Greensboro. They wore identical ballerina dresses of copper nylon net over . taffeta with short jackets of the 4 same material, matching mitts, and cloche bonnets of copper velvet. ' The matron of honor carried a cas cade bouquet of yellow spider ' chrysanthemums and talisman roses , tied with gold net lace and narrow chartreuse satin ribbons. The bridesmaids carried cascade bou- quels of chartreuse spider chrys anthemums and golden rapture roses. Terrell Boyle, daughter of Mr. 1 and Mrs. Irvin Boyle of Charlotte, . was flower girl and wore an ankle length frock of organdy and lace made with hoop skirt caught up with nosegays of flowers. She car , ried a miniature bouquet of yellow and gold pom pom chrysanthemums i and roses, tied with aoM satlnrib- Music Clubs Plan District Meeting Members of the Wanesvil!e Music Club will attend the twenty fourth annual meeting of the senior clubs of the Western District of the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs which will be held in the First Baptist Church in Ruther- fordton, next SaiurUav. Mrs. Areh Baylor, district direc tor, will be in charge of the meet ing, which will open at 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Robert Turner, president of the Waynesville club, will make the response to the address of welcome. D.A.R. Chapters Will Meet In Asheville The annual meeting of the First District, Daughters of the Amerir can Revolution, will be held Thursday at the Battery Park Hotel in Asheville. The meeting will ooen at 10:30 a.m. with Miss Ruth Greenlee of Marion, district director, presiding. Miss Virginia Home of Wadesboro, state regent, will make the princi pal' address. Lunch will be served at 1 o'clock and chapter regents have been re quested to make reservations for their chapter members as soon as possible. Mrs. James R. Howisson, Jr., Willis Smith, Jr., Alton Battle Smith and Lee Creecy Smith, all of Raleigh. Following the ceremony a recep tion was held at the home of the brides parents, after which the couple left for a wedding trip to New York and Canada. Mrs. Dorsett, granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Lee of The West Canton Home Demons tration Club met Thursday after noon in the Patton School lunch room with. Mis. Alton B. Watts as Mis. W. S. McElrath, president, Was in charge and Mrs, Earl Poe conducted the devotional. The demonstration on "The' Pro fessional Touch in Sewing," was given by Miss Mary Cornwell, home agent. The Book Store Waynesville.' was graduated from St. Mary's School and Junior Col lege in Raleigh and from Duke University in June. She is a mem ber of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Mr. Dorsett was graduated from Davidson College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Omi cron Delta Kappa and Phi Gamma Delta fraternities. He was gradu ated from the University of North Carolina Law School and served four years during World War H. He is a member of the law firm of Smith, Leach and Anderson in Raleigh. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. James A. Gwyn, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Lee. Capt. and Mrs. Henry Leei and Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Lee, Jr., all of Waynesville, Lillian Medford Is Elected I Troop President Lillian Medford, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. G. C. Medford of Lake Junaluska, was elected president of Gild Scout Troop No. 4 at their regular weekly meeting last Wed nesday night. Nancy Leatherwood was elected secretary-treasurer. The meeting was held at the home of Mary Lu Elwood, leader of the troop. Miss Medford succeeds Betty Ann Browne as president. After the election of officers the troop members had a lady candy pulling. Members of the troop are: Ami Rector, Anne Bischolf, Kathleen Calhoun, Margaret Reece, Mary Jane Rogers, Joyce Carter, and Betty Noland. Betty Noland Heads Tally-- Ho.:lub,k The Tally-Ho Club of Waynes ville High School held its first meeting of the year Wednesday afternoon and elected officers for the coming year. Betty Noland, a senior, was elected president of the club, and Ann Hector was elected vice-president, Lillian Medford was re-elected secretary, and Joyce Carter was elected treasurer. Mary Jane Rogers, .president of the club last year was elected his torian. Miss Alma Jackson is faculty advisor of the club again this year. The purpose of the club is to give plays and is in general a dramatics organization. Last year they were successful in sponsoring severaj dances. Prior to the lecture a business session of the group was held with Mrs. Rufus Siler, president, pre siding. Mrs. James Elwood, chairman of arrangements for the district gar den club meeting to be held here on October 20, announced plans for that day.
