Stanley Cove Folks Plan New Projects By Mrs. Martin Rofrrs Mountaineer Correspondent The residents of Stamey Cove discussed new community improve ment projects and elected Mrs. James McFalls as the Community Development Program secretary for the rest of the year when they met last week. The session was held at the home nf T. D. Stevenson. Followine the devotional bv the Rev, V. N. Allen, the group dis cussed the project for erecting road and church signs and laid plans for a box supper to help raise money for the community's basketball team. Community spokesmen said lat er no definite date had been set for the supper, but that it would be held in the "near future. Thp rpslrirnts durinf the meet ing also voted the Rev. V. N. Allen chairman of the Aliens Creek Com munity Development Trogram, and the resident of Allen's Creek for their hospitality at the wiener roast they had given for the Stamey Cove people. Rev. Bauer New Seventh Day Adventist Pastor The Rev. S. I. Bauer. 25-year- old native of Berkeley. Calif., this week started work is district pas tor of the Seventh Dav Adventist Churches in Hatelwood and Sylva. Mr. and Mrs. Bauer have estab lished their residence-' at Lake Junaluska. They are the parents of a set of twins a boy and a girl and another son. Mr. Bauer served as assistant pastor at the Seventh Day Ad ventist Church in Shelby for a year before coming here, and previous ly had been. assistant pastor of the Rocky Mount Church. He w ill preach regular weekly worship services every Saturday at the Sylva and Hazelwood churches, and this Sunday will start a series of weekly revival meetings at the Hatelwood Church.
