The Long's Chapel WSCS will

stalled in all elevators of the new
Sutton Terrace luxury apartment
project en New York's fashionable

The phones are being hooked UP
to the house switchboard in the
three structures that comprise the
project. Convenience and safety
are the purpose.
David Tishman. one of the build
ers, explains that a tenant who has
forgotten to call the doorman, to
order a taxi before leaving an a
partment, will be able to call from
the elevator and have a taxi wait
ing at the curb.

County Hospital for several days,

Hold Session
The WMS will meet Saturday at
the Crabtree Baptist Church for
an all-day session.
The GA girls will give a play,
and everyone will bring a picnic
lunch.

Sextet Sings
In Asheville
The vocal sextet from Spring
dale School near' Canton is giving
its second performance of the
week in Asheville tomorrow.
On Monday, the members of the
group were the guests of the Am
erican Business Club of Asheville
at a luncheon at the Vanderbilt
Hotel.
On Friday, they will appear at
the regular meeting of the Ashe
ville Kiwanis Club.
The sextet, directed by Gerald
F. Bovell, comprises Tenors David
Jenkins and Dennis Donnell, Bari
tones Ohil Schroeder, Tom Hyman,
Morris Mitchell and Everett Ka
valer; and Springdale Principal R.
T. Alexander, Jr., who sings bass.
The Springdale singers plan
many more appearances, at local
schools and before civic groups,
following the Christmas holidays.

day, November 28, by adoption.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Francis and
Miss Louise Francis left this week
for Panama City, Florida, where
they arc visiting Sgt. and Mrs.
Jack Hogan. Mrs. Hogan is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis.
Miss Francis will go from Panama
City to Hollywood, Florida, for the
winter.

Is One Of Group
Making Recordings
Lowery Ferguson, Jr., member j
of the freshman class at Brevard '
College, is one of eight members
of the College Glee Club selected
to make a series of recordings for
Christmas programs which will be
presented over Station WPNF
each Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
He is also a member of the cast
for the Christmas pageant which
will be given in Brevard and Ed-
neyville just before the Christmas
holidays.
Lowery is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. L. O. Ferguson of the Crab
tree section.

To Have Meeting
The Auxiliary of Veterans of
Foreign Wars will hold a regular
meeting in the Selective Service
office Monday night at 7:30 o'clock.
Mrs. S. E. Tutor and daughter,
Becky, are leaving tomorrow for
Rockingham to attend the wedding
of the former's niece, Miss Betty
Thomas, and Lt. William Rawls.
