V until the disciples came to Him and told Him that it was meal time, and the people should he told to go and find food for them selves.. -. Jesus said, "Give yc them to eat." How? asked the disciples, as they had little money, and there were five thousand people in the multitude. Jesus told them to go and see how much food they had. and when they reported only five loaves and two small fishes, Jesus told the people to sit down in orderly fashion. When they did so. He "brake the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them: and the two fishes divided He among them. And they did all eat and were filled," and there were twelve baskets full of fragments and of fishes left over! Always as Jesus brake the bread there was more which grew in Jesus' hands. After this miracle, the disciples took boat to go to Bethsaida on the other side of the sea, but Jesus Himself went up into a mountain to pray. When He came down to the shore He saw the disciples trying hard to row against wind and Salvation Army P. O. Jesus walked toward them on the water, and they thought He was a spirit, and cried out. "Immediately He talked to them, and saith unto them, 'Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid-,"., And when Jesus got into the Ship, the wind ceased, and, as well as they knew Him and His power, they were amazed, but they did not recognize Him until they landed on the other shore. Then they "ran through that whole region round about, and be gan to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard He was. "And whithersoever He entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought Him that they might touch if it were but the border of His garment: and as many as, touched Him were healed." We have not space to tell of Jesus' rebuke to the Pharisees and scribes who complained that Jesus' disciples did not observe Jewish customs. The teacher should tell of it. however, if there is time, pointing out what hypo crites these men were. I Two great facts stand out in modern social thought the poten tialities of youth and the obligation resting upon the older generation to turn these hidden powers into safe and useful channels. In some countries youth and "childhood are exploited to foster political aims and bolster the power of totalitarian dictators. Such organizations desecrate youth and add to the pain and confusion of the world. ' The Boy Scouts organization exists to bless and strengthen youth itself. It seeks to develop character by inculcating the principles of truth, honesty, integrity and faith, It builds strong bodies through healthful outdoor exercises. Religion is the safest guide in human living." Boy Scouts are taught to respect and reverence religious faith, to attend Church and put their trust in God. Scout troops seek to translate religion into practical living. The Boy Scouts organization is a potent factor in combating ju venile delinquency. The scouts are taught to be true to God and their country, to keep themselves morally clean and physically strong. What more could a parent ask for his boy? THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . .
