Margaret Reece Given 3rd Place In DAR Contest Miss Margaret Reece won third place among ninety-one contest ants in the annual Good Citizen ship Contest sponsored by the North Carolina Society of Daugh ters of the American Revolution. Miss Reece, a member of he senior class of the Waynesville High School, was selected by the students and faculty to represent the local chapter in the state con test. She compiled a scrap book of her activities during her high school years and the book was judged dong with books made by girls throughout the state. She was awarded a World Peace Gold Medal. Other contestants were Anne Rector, Joyce Carter, and Dorothv Caldwell. The contest, which was open to all members of the senior class, was a feature of the annual High School World Peace Study and Speaking Program and all essays were written on the subject, "How Can We Help Build World Peace in The Atomic Age." Papers were written by a group of senior English students and were sent to Western Carolina Teachers College where the four final con testants Were selected. Presentation of the medal to Miss Bischoff was made by Mrs. Raymond Lane of the Woman's Club. M. H.
